Graza Team's Best and Worst Bites of Summer

As summer comes to a close, the Graza team details the best and worst bites of Summer 24'!

Ashton, Sales

Best: I just got back from a visit to London and while I was there I went to a restaurant called Gold that served sourdough toast with whipped sheep's ricotta, figs, walnuts, and honey. It was truly divine and I am still thinking about it!

Worst: Probably the pre-made sandwich I was given on my flight. Airplane food simply never hits.

Isabella, Operations

Best: Best bite of summer was the Thrice cooked bacon from Mission Chinese Food in San Francisco. Such an amazing and unique flavor, it was like Chinese food and bbq had a baby.

Worst: I can't think of any, I try not to store that information in my brain.

Melissa, Sales

Best: The first-of-the-season peach from Boggy Creek Farm here in Austin. I ate it while I was standing in the farm-stand. Nothing hits like a peach you've been waiting a whole year for!

Worst: Gotta be honest, my worst bite was a dog treat. I will not be taking questions at this time.

Kendall, Social

Best: I can't pick one thing, but I went to Leo three times this summer and the menu just never disappoints. The first time was spent with the Graza team, where we ordered way too much food. The rest were spent with friends for lunch and dinner. Their focaccia with whipped ricotta lives in my head rent-free and their tiramisu just hits the spot. BRB might just go again today honestly.

Worst: The $10 grilled chicken sandwich the size of my palm at the US Open.

Casey, Creative

Best: Heirloom tomatoes from Taft farm in Great Barrington, MA. It's the summer of produce and I love an heirloom tomato with salt. Simple and delicious.

Worst: An elderberry macaron from a bakery I will not disclose. It literally tasted like Tylenol-so bad I spit it out and I never do that.

Gabby, Social

Best: A Gillaedeau oyster on the coast of Spain, it was the size of my hand and I had one of those moments after I ate it where I felt sad because I'll never be able to re-do that first bite.

Worst: An (very stale) over-priced funnel cake I had upstate. It was only bad because of how badly I wanted it to be good if that makes sense.

Talia, Community

Best: Lion's Bar burger + fries was Friday night post work perfection! Summer vibes were high and the flaky salt on the burger just made each bite better than the last.

Worst: I always try to get into smoothies and making smoothies, and they're just never quite right. So the plethora of smoothies I forced myself to drink cause fruit gets expensive and I couldn't bear to throw it out.

Kali, Brand

Best: All the food I had at Leo at the Graza team dinner, the people I was sat with also made me laugh the entire time (Talia) so the food tasted even better! (Plot twist:Talia wrote this)

Worst: I was sea sick on an Alaskan cruise and the food just did not go down well.

Maddie, Operations

Best: Too many to count, but the star of the show was a one-biter otoro nigiri from Sushidokoro Isseki Sancho in Tokyo!!!

Worst: A dive bar shrimp taco that gave me my first-ever incident of food poisoning :/
