Our team is always sharing tips and discoveries to make each others lives in the kitchen easier and most importantly—keep things fun. This September, it's back to the basics, and we're passing along a few ideas that'll become staples.

September Cooking and Kitchen Hacks

Andrew, co-founder and CEO:
Make YouTube or Siri or your smart speared your best friend while cooking. I once had a roommate who worked at Google and he would ask his Google home for advice mid cooking ALL THE TIME. Blew my mind.

Allen, co-founder and COO:
I did it! I was down to the last 1/4 of my drizzle bottle and had a new one on the way, so I mixed up some lemon juice, dijon mustard, finely grated garlic, salt and pepper and added it directly into my drizzle bottle and made a squeeze dressing that I keep in the fridge! Just shake it well and squeeze. GAME CHANGER!!

Amanda, brand marketing:
It's fig season, and it doesn't last long, so act quickly! Acquire some figs, prosciutto (or your favorite cured meat), and a bottle of Drizzle. Have fun with the assembly—toss 'em, wrap 'em,  or roast 'em, and enjoy! (If you're feeling crazy, bake a loaf of sourdough or throw in some fresh mozzarella to further elevate.)

Kendall, head of social:
Don't sleep on a good marinade! As a creature of habit, I love chicken and steak, but doing a simple packaged marinade, such as this one from A Dozen Cousins, has made simple meals taste phenom.

Paloma, brand marketing:
Living across from an elementary school has left me very aware of back to school season (and sentimental for the daily surprise that came with unpacking my trusty bento style lunchbox). If you're finally coming back to the office after a summer recess, or if you never left, this Alessi take on the staple, designed by Sakura Adachi, is the ultimate adult upgrade—and inspiration to get there in the first place.
