Ramp Butter Trout Fillets with Le Creuset

We teamed up with our friends at Le Creuset to bring you this campground showstopper! 



2 lbs Whole Sea Trout (gutted and cleaned)

1 lemon sliced 

1 stick salted butter

1 bunch of ramps roughly chopped (can substitute for green onions)

2-3 tbsp Sizzle

Salt and Pepper


Active Time: 30 Minutes

Full Time: 1 Hour


Fire up your grill. While the grill is heating, pat the trout dry on both sides. Add Sizzle, lemon slices, salt and pepper, and some ramps (1-2 roughly chopped) into the internal cavity of the fish. Make sure to distribute evenly throughout both fish. Season both sides of the fish with salt and pepper. 


In a small saucepan, on medium, melt butter on the stove. Once melted, add ramps to butter and cook on medium-low for 1 minute. Remove from heat and set aside. 


Once the grill is heated, place the Le Creuset Alpine Outdoor Collection Square Grill Basket on top of the grill and let it heat for 2 minutes. Coat the grill basket with 1 tbsp Sizzle. Place the fish in the Le Creuset grill basket for 3-4 minutes. Flip the trout and cook for 3-4 minutes on the other side. Depending on the thickness of your fish you might have to cook for longer. Remove the fish from the grill and spoon butter over the fish. Serve with lemon wedges or extra herbs to taste!
